Hanging out backstage.   It is nice to have an in with the band.   By the time the concert is over, the backstage party runs very late. Yours truly with Jason. You can see the backstage pass on my shirt.

My son Jared is having his backstage pass autographed by Jason Newsted.  To the left is Jared's friend Scott. We all go to rock concerts with our kids, right?!

The Metallica concert was at Pine Knob.  Pictures were allowed during the first two numbers.  To take photos after that requires special permission or you risk losing your film, your camera, or both. These concert photos were taken with a 50mm f/1.8 lens.

I had to anticipate timing and exposure to get the fireworks. I used Fuji Sensia II 100 slide film rated at 320 and pushd two stops in processing.
